Overview:
In this 8-day tour, you will explore two relatively low altitude areas in Tibet- Nyingchi, and Lhasa. You will explore the beautiful natural landscapes in Nyingch by visiting peach blossom in Gala Village, verdant Lulang Forest, and the beautiful sunrise of Ranwu Lake. Then, you will drive to Lhasa for exploring the mystic Tibetan Buddhist culture.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Nyingchi Arrival
Welcome to Nyingchi, the prefecture with the lowest elevation (average 3100 meters) in Tibet. When you arrive in Nyingchi airport, our guide and driver will greet you there and transfer you to the hotel in Nyingchi. It takes about one hour from the airport to downtown city. When you arrive in the hotel, you could have a good rest or wander around this city.

Day 2 Nyingchi – Bomi
Attractions: King Cypress, Gala Village, Lulang Forest
Today, you’ll visit the main attractions in Nyingchi includes Lulang Forest, King Cypress, and Gala Village. After breakfast, you will pay a visit to King Cypress, a great tree with a 50 meters’ height. It has over 2,500 years old and is famous for a magical tree in Nyingchi. Then, you will leave for Gala Village, where you can view the beautiful Peach Blossom. You will be totally impressed by the stunning scenery.
After that, you’ll head to Lulang Forest. There are many plants and flowers that you don’t the name, but very beautiful. On the way to Lulang Forest, we will stop by at Sekyim-la Pass for you to enjoy the breathtaking Mt. Namjia Bawa, a high peak with 7782 meters’ elevation.
In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Bomi and have a good rest.

Day 3 Bomi - Midui Glacier – Ranwu Lake
Attractions: Midui Glacier, Ranwu Lake
In the morning, you’ll head to Ranwu Lake from Bomi. On the way, you could pay a visit to Midui Glacier, which is about100 kilometers from Bomi. The main peak of Midui Glacier is 6,800 meters, while the snow line is only 4,600 meters. So, Midui Glacier is the glacier with the lowest elevation in China. But it’s very beautiful to see.
When you reach to Ranwu Lake, you could enjoy the stunning sunset of Ranwu Lake. The surface of the lake is like a mirror, reflecting the blue sky and snow-capped mountains.

Day 4 Ranwu Lake – Nyingchi
Attractions: Ranwu Lake
In the early morning, you can wake up to enjoy the breathtaking sunrise at Ranwu Lake. After breakfast, you’ll drive back to Nyingchi town along the beautiful National Highway 318.
Stay Overnight in Nyingchi Bayi Town
Day 5 Nyingchi - Lhasa
Attractions: Basumtso Lake, Niyang River
Today, you’re going to Lhasa from Nyingchi along the G318 national road. Along the way, you’re going to visit Niyang River, which is the longest tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo River with a length of 307.5 Km. You could enjoy the beautiful peach blossoms along the G318 national road in April.
Also, you’ll visit Basumtso Lake, which is a holy lake of Nyingmapa Tibetan Buddhism. Tashi Island is one of the highlights at Basumtso Lake that is home to a small sacred chapel of Nyingmapa. Every year, On April 15th in the Tibetan calendar, the pilgrims from all local of Tibet will come to do a kora around the lake.

Day 6 Lhasa Sightseeing
Attractions: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, is well-known as an international tourism city with mystic Tibetan Buddhist culture and natural plateau scenery. Today, we will arrange you to explore this old and holy city which is already over 1300 years.
In the morning, you will head to visit world-known Potala Palace, which has the highest architecture in the world. It was built by Srongtsen Gampo in the 7th.century and used to be the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. Except for the art of buildings, you could also visit the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
After lunch, you are going to visit another symbolic scenic spot of Tibet-Jokhang Temple. It is considered to be the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism. In the temple, there is a golden life-sized statue of 12-year-old Sakyamuni, which was brought by Princess Wencheng from the Tang Dynasty. So, you could see many devout Tibetans do a pilgrimage in front of Jokhang temple. Afterward, you could stroll around the famous Barkhor Street, where you can enjoy a sweet tea, and buy some Tibetan souvenirs.

Day 7 Lhasa Sightseeing
Attractions: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery
Today, you will also discover two other highlights of Lhasa – Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. In the morning, you are going to visit Drepung Monastery, the largest monastery in Tibet. Before the liberation of Tibet, more than 10,000 monks lived and studied. Therefore, Drepung Monastery is also well-known as the “Mother School of Dalai Lamas”.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Sera Monastery. You can enjoy a wonderful Buddhist debate in the monastery, open daily from 3 pm to 5 pm, except on Sundays. You can participate in the daily debate of 80 monks in a closed courtyard. This is more like a question and answers session on Tibetan Buddhism. Through this debate, you can learn more about Tibetan Buddhism culture.

Day 8 Depart from Lhasa
Your tour ends today. After breakfasts, you will be free for the morning. Our staff will pick you up at your hotel and send you off to Lhasa Airport/Railway Station.
